Worth having to hand

  • The model and serial off the rating plate if you can reach it — a photograph of the plate is ideal.
  • What the appliance does now, in your own words, and what it did just before it changed.
  • Whether anything has already been replaced or looked at by somebody else.
  • Gate codes, a service elevator, or anything else that decides whether the van can get to the door.

01 After the visit

What people said afterwards

4.9 / 5939 reviews

  • “Self-clean ended and the door stayed locked for two days. The latch motor had jammed at the end of its travel. He freed it, fitted a new switch, and ran a short clean cycle to prove it.”

    Reza F. · Brentwood · October 2025

  • “Roasts kept coming out raw in the middle whatever I set the dial to. He logged the cavity against his own probe, found it running far under, and recalibrated. Sorted, but it took two visits.”

    Judith P. · Hancock Park · July 2026

  • “A cycle that took an hour was running most of the afternoon. The thermistor read low, so the machine sat waiting for heat it already had. One sensor, sorted.”

    Herschel M. · Hancock Park · April 2026

02 Before you call anybody

Three things not to wait on

Two of these are worth acting on before you call anybody, including us.

  • A gas smell that does not clear

Stop cooking, shut the valve behind or below the range, open a window and leave the door open. Ring the gas utility first. We can look at the manifold and the fittings after they have cleared it.

  • Anything scorched, or water reaching an outlet

Kill the breaker for that circuit rather than pulling the appliance out over a wet floor. Then call — a browned connector is a part, not a write-off, but it does not want to be run again first.

  • A built-in that has stopped cold

Move what matters to another fridge and keep the doors shut. A full compartment holds temperature for hours, and every opening costs you some of that.
